چکیده

In recent years, City University research group is developing a meshfree method based on Meshless Local Petrov Galerkin Method using Rankin source function (MLPG_R). The proposed method, works well for the simulations that we have carried out so far and gave a reasonable agreement with the experimental results for the wave profile. However, there is fluctuation in the pressure time history sometimes. This will cause the major problem when extending this model for the wave-elastic structure interactions, wherein, the pressure time history should be smooth enough to make the iterations with the structural solver, to have a stable simulation and to have a proper convergence between the fluid and structural solver. In this paper, we will propose a new algorithm to minimize this fluctuation. The comparisons of the time history from the improved MLPG_R method with that of other existing schemes shows that the pressure time history is much smoother.

Solution of Wave Equations Near Seawalls by Finite Element Method

A 2D finite element model for the solution of wave equations is developed. The fluid is considered as incompressible and irrotational. This is a difficult mathematical problem to solve numerically as well as analytically because the condition of the dynamic boundary (Bernoulli’s equation) on the free surface is not fixed and varies with time. The finite element technique is applied to solve non...

مقایسه نتایج شبیه‌سازی بلور فوتونی با استفاده از روش FDTD دوبعدی بهبودیافته و FDTD سه‌بعدی

The accuracy of improved two dimensional finite difference time domain method (2D FDTD) is verified by comparing with 3D FDTD method and experimental data. The optimized 60° photonic crystal waveguide bend, used in this study as a test case, is composed of InPGaAs/InP material and air holes and TE polarization is considered. The photonic crystal waveguide bend transmission data was measured...

Steep. Short-Crested Waves and Related Phenomena

Steep, short-crested waves, as well as a large variety of three-dimensional propagating wave patterns have been created in laboratory, utilizing a plunging half-cone. Monochromatic waves, over a range of frequencies and amplitudes through breaking and including soliton wave groups near resonance, have been observed and studied in a small wave flume. This monochromatic wavemaker creates complex ...
